Xamarin Forms project, building release version on Hosted 2017 agent on Visual Studio Team Services. Builds debug config just fine, but when I build a release config I get an error Could not find a part of the path 'd:\platforms':

Have tried both with linking to None and SDK Only.
The same configuration builds just fine locally. I can't find any reference to the "platforms" path in any project file, nor in any other part of the build log. Only in reference to this error.
Anyone have any ideas on what it could be?
